Umbela Brasil is a global not-for-profit collaboration between professional and para-professional artists, dancers and drummers dedicated to professional development of performers and teachers in Brasilian and afro Brasilian arts in Australia.

We bring artists over on 'cultural exchange' for classes, workshops and performances. We are member driven for what skills are sought from year to year.  

As a socially responsible business, our part of the exchange is a contribution to the artists community through a reciprocal visit, as well as, community work and charitable giving.

The Australian arm of Umbela Brasil was formed in 2008, with thanks to Mariana Pinho (Gandaia UK) and Sam Alexander (Umbela UK) for giving us our wings.

Our directors are located in Australia, UK, Japan, France and Brazil, and are respected artists, constantly seeking new and innovative cultural exchanges.
